Labor contracts are handled by the Personnel Committee of the Board of Representatives. After the City and the bargaining unit have agreed to contract terms, the Board of Representatives has 45 days within which to consider the contract. The Board of Representatives may vote to reject the contract. If no action is taken, the contract is deemed accepted.
The Board of Finance is required to submit an advisory opinion as to the fiscal impact of the contract to the Board of Representatives prior to the Board of Representatives’ action.
All labor contracts in effect are available on the City of Stamford's website.
The Personnel Committee also approves all employment contracts.
