The Fiscal Committee is the Committee to which all financial matters are referred. The Fiscal Committee considers and makes a recommendation to the full Board on:
- The annual city, Board of Education, special revenues budgets
- Operating, capital and grant requests for additional appropriations
- Resolutions and appropriation authorizations for all grants
- Bonding and refunding resolutions
- Contracts that relate to the city’s fiscal operations
The Fiscal Committee is also charged with reviewing and monitoring:
- The status of authorized spending and projects, especially large funded organizations and/or departments vis-à-vis major budget initiatives and achievement of goals
- Regular tracking reports of key budget items
- Performance and policies of Department of Administration
- Audits
The Fiscal Committee also sets the framework of expectations for budget managers and establishes information requirements for written summary budget information.
