The Personnel Committee is concerned with human resources matters. In addition to proposing, reviewing and recommending ordinances relating to human resources activities, the Personnel Committee is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations to the full Board on:

  • City labor agreements and arbitration awards
  • Contracts regarding human resource software and computer technology efforts
  • Fiscal appropriations relating to personnel contracts and/or Human Resources Department initiatives (as a secondary committee)

 

The Personnel Committee also monitors and makes recommendations regarding:

  • City personnel policies including health insurance, leave provisions and other benefits
  • Employment contracts for non civil-service positions
  • Pension plans
  • Labor negotiations (and receives confidential updates on status of same)
  • The city’s pay plan for non-union, appointed and elected officials (and recommends changes to same)

 

Typical Meeting Date: The third Monday of the month
